The manager of Infiniti Restaurant at Grace Bay Club has been acquitted of the sexual assault charges that had been brought against him, bringing an end to a case that drew significant public attention.
The allegations, which were first reported in late 2023, centered on claims made by a female employee. Following court proceedings and the presentation of evidence, the court, found the manager Abhilash Kumar Sukumaran not guilty, resulting in his acquittal on the charges.
The decision concludes the criminal proceedings against the accused, who had maintained his innocence throughout the case.

The matter attracted widespread discussion both within the hospitality industry and among the wider public due to the prominence of Grace Bay Club as one of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ leading luxury resorts.
An acquittal means the prosecution did not prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt, and the accused is no longer subject to any criminal consequences in relation to those allegations.
Eagle Legal News will continue to report on significant court decisions and legal developments across the Turks and Caicos Islands as they become available.
The defendant was represented by Mr. Oliver Smith, KC. Ms. Tavania Wilson was for the office or the Director Of The Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
