Wednesday 8th July, 2026 – Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands
Abundant Life Ministries recently paused to recognize and celebrate one of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ brightest young scholars, Tianna Taylor, following her outstanding performance in the 2026 Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA).

Tianna, a graduate of B.E.S.T Institute Inc., earned the distinction of being one of the two Top Student in the Turks and Caicos Islands, achieving an exceptional 483 out of 500 marks, representing an overall average of 96.6 percent. During the special church service, she was presented with flowers and gifts as family members, church leaders, and the congregation applauded her remarkable accomplishment.
The recognition was just days after a historic graduation ceremony for B.E.S.T Institute, which this year celebrated not only its Graduating Class of 2026 but also its 25th Anniversary, marking a quarter-century of educational excellence in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
In her address, Principal Ms. Darlene Lightbourne reflected on the school’s remarkable journey over the past twenty-five years, describing B.E.S.T Institute as a place built on faith, discipline, commitment, resilience, kindness, and academic excellence.

She paid tribute to the school’s founders, teachers, staff, parents, alumni, and supporters whose dedication has helped shape generations of young people.
“For twenty-five years, B.E.S.T Institute has remained committed to providing quality education, nurturing strong character, teaching Godly principles, and inspiring every child to reach their fullest potential,” she told the audience.
Ms. Lightbourne also highlighted the school’s legacy of producing students who continue to excel long after leaving its classrooms, noting that many members of this year’s graduating class began their educational journey at B.E.S.T as two-year-olds in Pre-K.
“They are truly our B.E.S.T babies,” she said. “From learning their ABCs to walking across this graduation stage, we have watched them grow into confident, capable and compassionate young people.”
She praised the Class of 2026 for once again demonstrating what B.E.S.T Institute stands for and celebrated an exceptional year of academic achievement.
Among the school’s accomplishments were:
• A 100 percent pass rate in the CPEA examinations.
• The Top Student in the Turks and Caicos Islands with an average of 96.6 percent.
• Three students ranked among the Top Ten nationally.
• Four students achieving averages above 90 percent.
• An overall class average of approximately 78.8 percent, with nearly half of the graduating class scoring 80 percent or higher.
Ms. Lightbourne also reserved special recognition for Grade 6 teacher Ms. E. Simmonds, commending her outstanding leadership, patience, and unwavering commitment to ensuring every child reached their fullest potential.

The evening’s keynote address was delivered by Ms. A’Janae Robinson, a proud B.E.S.T Institute alumna from the Class of 2016, whose inspiring message resonated with graduates, parents, and teachers alike.
Speaking on the theme “Turning Effort into Excellence,” Robinson reminded students that success is never accidental but is built through consistency, perseverance, and hard work.
Quoting former Indian President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, she said, “Excellence is a continuous process and not an accident.”
Reflecting on her own journey, Robinson shared that while she once believed she had her future completely planned out when she graduated from B.E.S.T ten years ago, life taught her one of its greatest lessons: every new level requires a new level of effort.
She encouraged the graduates not to fear the challenges that lie ahead in high school, explaining that each stage of life demands greater responsibility and determination.
“The effort that got you through primary school won’t be the same effort that gets you through high school,” she said. “Every stage of life asks more of you—not because life is trying to make things harder, but because it is helping you become stronger.”
Using the illustration of pushing a heavy box, Robinson reminded students that wishing for success is never enough.
“The box doesn’t move because you want it to,” she explained. “It moves because you apply the effort required to move it. Life works the same way.”
She also urged students to embrace opportunities beyond the classroom by joining clubs, sports, community organizations, church groups, and leadership programs, noting that many of life’s greatest lessons come from serving others and stepping outside one’s comfort zone.
Robinson reflected on her own accomplishments—including serving as Deputy Commandant of the Turks and Caicos Islands Cadet Corps, receiving a National Youth Award, and pursuing university studies—emphasizing that none of those achievements happened overnight.
“They were built through years of learning, growing, making mistakes, getting back up, and continuing to put in the effort,” she said.

She reminded graduates that excellence is not about perfection or always being the smartest person in the room.
“Excellence is choosing to give your best. It is showing up when it’s difficult. It is refusing to quit when something gets hard.”
In an emotional moment toward the end of her address, Robinson offered special words of encouragement to her younger cousin, Kaden, who was among the graduating class, while extending the same message to every graduate.
“Never be afraid to lean on your village,” she said. “You have parents, grandparents, teachers, family members and friends who believe in you. Work hard, stay humble, be kind, ask for help when you need it, and never stop putting in the effort.”
The ceremony served as both a celebration of individual achievement and a reflection of B.E.S.T Institute’s enduring commitment to academic excellence, Christian values, and character development over the past twenty-five years.
As the graduates prepare to begin high school, they leave behind a school that has spent a quarter-century building a reputation for producing confident, disciplined, and successful young people who continue to make meaningful contributions to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
For Tianna Gabrielle Miracle Taylor, being honoured by her church after earning the nation’s highest CPEA score was yet another memorable moment in what has already been an extraordinary year. Her achievement, together with the accomplishments of her classmates, stands as a testament to the dedication of the students, the support of their families, the commitment of their teachers, and the lasting legacy of B.E.S.T Institute Inc..
As Eagle Legal News attended both the graduation service at Bethany Baptist Church and again when one of the Nation’s top CPEA girls was honoured at her home church, we were delighted and moved as the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands are bright in the hands of our youths.
