As investigations continue into the recent murder of a Haitian national in Five Cays. Eagle Legal News has returned to the community and gathered additional information surrounding the deadly shooting that has left residents shaken and searching for answers.

During a visit to the area, Eagle Legal News was directed to the home of the deceased, identified as Daniel, who is believed to have been in his sixties.

The property, located in a quiet section of Five Cays near Bellco, appears to have been under construction at the time of the incident. From outside the secured gate, a partially completed concrete structure could be seen along with a wooden dwelling situated toward the rear of the property. The area surrounding the home is heavily vegetated, with trees and bushes providing cover around the hillside community.

Residents familiar with the property indicated that the deceased had been living primarily in the wooden structure while construction work continued on the larger building.

Since the killing, the property appears to have been secured and closed off. Eagle Legal News was informed that other occupants who had been residing there have since relocated following the incident.

As our investigation continues, new information has also emerged regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting itself.

Initial reports suggested that two females may have been inside the vehicle at the time of the attack. However, information subsequently obtained by Eagle Legal News indicates that the occupants were in fact two males.

According to information gathered from sources familiar with the incident, the deceased was a passenger in the vehicle while another male was driving him home.

It is understood that as the vehicle travelled through the area, it was approached and forced to stop by individuals with guns. Sources indicate that at least one armed male individual.

As the passenger reportedly began to exit the vehicle, he is said to have noticed the firearm and attempted to retreat back inside. However, the gunman allegedly held onto the vehicle door, preventing it from closing.

According to information provided to Eagle Legal News, the deceased reportedly attempted to calm the situation and was heard saying words to the effect of “everything cool” before shots were fired. He was struck in his head and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver, despite being in extremely close proximity to the shooting, was not physically injured.

Sources indicate that blood from the victim covered portions of the driver’s clothing due to the nature of the attack and the confined space inside the vehicle.

Emergency services and police were subsequently alerted and responded to the scene. However, by the time officers arrived, the victim had already succumbed to his injuries.

Residents living throughout portions of Five Cays reported hearing multiple gunshots that night, with several persons indicating that the sound of gunfire echoed across a significant portion of the community.

The area where the shooting occurred is described as a dirt roadway surrounded by vegetation and scattered residential properties, making it difficult to determine exactly where the shots originated without being in the immediate vicinity.

One aspect of the incident that has drawn attention is that the driver escaped without injury, leading some to believe that the attackers may have specifically targeted the deceased.

Based on information gathered thus far, there is currently no indication that the gunmen were interested in harming the driver, as all attention appeared to have been focused on the passenger.

At this time, no arrests have been announced in connection with the murder, and investigators have not publicly disclosed a motive.

Police continue their investigation into the killing, while family members and residents remain hopeful that those responsible will be identified and brought before the courts.
