WHEELAND/BLUE HILLS, Providenciales — Monday, August 3, 2026
Residents of Wheeland and Blue Hills welcomed a significant new addition to their community on Saturday, August 1, as J&J Super Saver officially opened its doors following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by community leaders, customers, invited guests, and Wheeland Member of Parliament Hon. Kyle Knowles.
Located along Thomas Lightbourne Drive (Phase 2), the new supermarket is expected to provide residents with greater convenience, affordable grocery options, and another locally owned business to support within the district.
The ceremony commenced shortly after 11:00 a.m., with Master of Ceremonies Jonard Missick (owner’s son) being introduced by Jolissia Missick (owner’s daughter), An opening prayer was then offered by Bishop Dale Taylor of Kingdom Deliverance Ministry, asking God’s continued blessings over the business, its owners, employees, and customers.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was a presentation on the History and Legacy of J&J Super Saver, delivered by Jokeia Missick, daughter of the owner. She reflected on the family’s journey, the vision behind the business, and their commitment to serving the Wheeland and Blue Hills communities through quality service, affordable prices, and fresh products.
Following the presentation, Joemard Missick delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the owner and founder of J&J Super Saver, expressing appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the new venture a reality and thanking the community for its overwhelming support leading up to the grand opening.

The ceremony concluded with the official ribbon cutting, after which the doors were opened and customers were invited inside to shop and experience the supermarket for the first time.
Among those in attendance was Hon. Kyle Knowles, Member of Parliament for Wheeland, who welcomed the investment into the constituency and spoke about the importance of businesses that strengthen communities.
“It’s important that institutions like this come and help shape our communities because we have schools, we have churches, and now we have our own supermarket.”
When asked whether he intended to support the new establishment, the Wheeland MP responded without hesitation:
“Of course. That’s my neighborhood.”
Residents also welcomed the opening with enthusiasm, noting the convenience of having a supermarket located closer to home.
One customer described his first impression of the new business as “pretty good,” explaining that while he had only stopped by to pick up a few items, he had already encouraged his wife to return later to complete the family’s grocery shopping.
“I told my wife to come down later,” he said, noting that she normally handles the household shopping.
For many residents, the opening represents more than just another grocery store. It reflects the continued growth and development of the Wheeland and Blue Hills communities, providing easier access to everyday essentials while creating additional economic opportunities through a locally owned enterprise.

The opening of J&J Super Saver comes as Blue Hills continues to experience noticeable development, with new infrastructure projects and business investments helping to transform the area. Community members expressed optimism that the supermarket will become an important fixture within the neighborhood for years to come.
With its doors now officially open, J&J Super Saver welcomed its first customers immediately following the ceremony, marking the beginning of what many hope will be another successful chapter for both the business and the rapidly growing Wheeland and Blue Hills community.
