PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands — Wednesday 5th August 2026.
The fatal shooting of Josh Andrew McIntosh is now being investigated as a homicide after the Kew Town resident succumbed to his injuries one day after being shot multiple times at his home.
Information gathered by our newsroom indicates that McIntosh, who was originally from North Caicos and had been residing in Kew Town, was shot several times during the late hours of July 30, 2026, in what sources describe as a targeted attack inside his residence.

According to information received from multiple sources familiar with the incident, McIntosh sustained approximately six gunshot wounds, including injuries to his leg, chest and abdomen. While these details have not been officially confirmed by police, they have been consistently reported by individuals with knowledge of the investigation.
Our sources further indicate that two or possibly three armed men forced their way into the residence before opening fire on McIntosh.
In the moments following the shooting, it is understood that McIntosh attempted repeatedly to contact several family members by telephone. Relatives later told those close to the investigation that they discovered numerous missed calls from him after 10:00 p.m., believing he was desperately trying to seek help after being wounded.

When he was unable to reach family members, McIntosh is believed to have contacted emergency services himself, directing police and ambulance personnel to his location.
He was transported to the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where he remained conscious and was reportedly able to communicate with medical personnel abd law enforcement authorities during the early stages of his treatment.
Sources indicate that doctors were working to stabilize his condition with the intention of arranging overseas medical treatment. However, despite those efforts, his condition deteriorated and he died the following day.
McIntosh was known to many in the community, having relocated from North Caicos to Providenciales in search of employment. While it remains unclear whether he was employed at the time of his death, sources acknowledged that he had experienced personal struggles, including challenges related to drug use.
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force initially reported on 30 July that officers responded shortly after midnight to a shooting in Kew Town, where one man had been injured and transported to hospital. Police also confirmed that a firearm was recovered at the scene as part of their investigation.

Following McIntosh’s death, police issued an updated statement on 1 August, confirming that the investigation had officially become a homicide inquiry. Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit continue to pursue witness interviews, forensic examinations and other investigative leads. Authorities have also confirmed that no arrests have been made to date.
